Our Design Process

1. Initial Design

In our initial meeting with you, we review house plans, style options, and functionality options. We want as much input from you as possible. This helps us better design our product to fit your needs. House plans, pictures, color samples, and appliance specifications help us see your objectives for your home. We have detailed forms that help us ask questions to accurately design and price your project. This meeting is very important. We prefer at least a 2 hour appointment in our showroom to focus on your project.

2. Proposal

Venuti Woodworking will process all information from our design meeting. From this, we can produce Job CAD drawings. This phase takes 1-2 weeks to design and price. We can then meet with you briefly, at your convenience, to review your drawings and what we propose for your project.

3. Job site Layout

After acceptance of Proposal and Terms, we do a complete on site layout of cabinets. We individually mark each cabinet to insure all electrical & plumbing, and to insure any potential issues are addressed. Changes are usually minimal, and we will keep you informed of all options to make your house more functional. This should happen before your 4-way inspection so any minor changes affecting other trades can be addressed.

4. Revise Drawings and Finalize

We take our job site layout and make changes to our CAD drawings. We will then briefly meet with you and review all changes. All information to manufacture your job will be reviewed including colors, doors, moldings, etc. We set an installation date at this meeting. An installation date starts the manufacturing process. This meeting must happen a minimum of 4 weeks before installation date on most projects.

5. Manufacture Cabinets

Materials are ordered and production schedules are made to meet an installation date. This time frame varies by size, complexity of project, and material lead times. Generally we start the manufacture process 4 to 6 weeks before installation.

6. Installation

We strive to meet the installation date. The job site needs to be ready also. A good and timely installation depends on a clean and orderly job site. Installation takes 1 to 3 days on most projects.

7. Pick Up

A pick up list is made during installation and prepared immediately. Generally, pick up lists are addressed after all appliances and counter tops are installed. We can install appliance panels and cabinets that set on counter tops. You now have beautiful furniture quality cabinets to enjoy for years to come.
